Worshippers and pupils from Catholic churches and schools will take part in a special procession this weekend.

They will attend the Blessed Sacrament Procession, in the grounds of Broughton Hall on Sunday.

The event is being arranged by the Keighley Deanery as part of the Year of Faith announced by former Pope Benedict XVI.

A spokesman for the organisers said everyone was welcome to attend the event, which will include performances by a 100-strong choir.

He added: “The procession begins at 3pm and will be followed by a picnic, stalls and fun activities, including a treasure hunt and musical entertainment. Some people will also be adding to the occasion by walking from St Stephen’s Church, Skipton, to Broughton Hall at noon.

“This is a gentle, leisurely 90-minute walk incorporating a stretch of the canal and then across country via Carleton to the hall. The deanery is indebted to the Tempest family for hosting the event.”
