Bentham and District Pet Rescue received a boost, thanks to three friends from the Ingleton area.
Imogen Campion, 13, and her friends Molly Price and Lola Primrose, who are all pupils at Queen Elizabeth’s in Kirkby Lonsdale, baked biscuits and sold them on the Ingleton Waterfalls walk, raising £155.55.
Afterwards they visited the charity’s sanctuary at Burton, where they met some of the animals who are currently seeking homes, and were so impressed that they have decided to continue raising funds for the organisation.
Founded in 1997, the charity is holding a sponsored walk around Langcliffe and Settle on Sunday and all the money raised will go to support its two sanctuaries – it also has one at Horton-in-Ribblesdale which mainly cares for cats – and its liaison work with other animal rescue organisations.
