Youngsters create “gruesome gargoyles” on Skipton Woods adventure
9:00am Sunday 11th August 2013 in News
Young people were encouraged to use their imagination and create a “gruesome gargoyle” when they were taken on an adventure into Skipton Woods.
“They were asked to make a strange creature which might inhabit the wood,” said a spokesman for the Woodland Trust, which organised it.
It was one of a number of events in August called “Skipton Castle Woods family walks” in which people can investigate the watery world of the wood, discover plants used for poisons and potions and explore the hidden life of the wood’s flying mammals.
Still to come are Horrible Herbals on Wednesday, Where The Bats Hang Out on Wednesday, August 21, and Time Travellers on Wednesday, August 28. All run from 2pm to 4pm.
People interested should telephone 01606 42667 or, on the day, 07814 107732.
