Match to be held at Skipton Cricket Club in memory of Sam Tate
8:00am Wednesday 14th August 2013 in News
A cricket match will be staged this weekend in memory of 30-year-old Skipton man Sam Tate, who died from cancer last year.
It has been organised by Chris Foster and Kevin Owens, who played cricket with Sam while at Ermysted’s Grammar School and at Skipton CC.
It will take place at Skipton Cricket Club on Sunday and proceeds will be donated to Airedale’s haematology and oncology day unit where Sam was treated.
To boost funds, they will hold a raffle and auction, with the star prize a cricket bat signed by England opening batsman Joe Root.
