Kilnsey Park celebrates its 35th anniversary
5:24pm Friday 9th August 2013 in News
Kilnsey Park is celebrating its 35th anniversary this weekend, with a host of activities including a barbecue, bushcraft, bug safaris, fun fishing competition, live music, theatre shows and cream teas.
The weekend will also see the introduction of the park’s newest attraction, alpacas.
The alpacas are particularly symbolic as they commemorate the park’s ties with Salts Mill at Saltaire back in Victorian times. This is when Sir James Roberts, great great grandfather of Kilnsey Park owner Jamie Roberts, ran Salts Mill saving it from bankruptcy. Much of the mill’s fortunes were built on the back of alpaca wool.
