Inspector rejects Cononley house plan
7:00am Friday 16th August 2013 in News
An outline plan to build a detached house next to a Cononley poultry farm has been dismissed by the Planning Inspectorate.
Dennis Smith’s appeal against the refusal of permission to build a detached dwelling next to Highgate Poultry Farm, on Windle Lane, was dismissed by planning inspector DJ Barnes. He ruled the proposed development would fail to preserve the character or appearance of Cononley Conservation Area.
He also stated the plan would be contrary to historic environment policies aimed at maintaining or enhancing the landscape character of the countryside.
