Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman broke her leg in an incident in Skipton.
At around 12.15pm on Friday, August 2, a silver Toyota Avensis taxi dropped an elderly man and a woman off outside Bizzie Lizzie’s Fish and Chip Shop on Swadford Street. As they got out of the cab, the man fell onto the pavement.
An 83-year-old local woman who was passing stopped to help the man, but fell as she went to his aid and suffered a broken leg. She was taken to Airedale Hospital for treatment.
Officers are trying to establish the exact circumstances of the incident and are urging any witnesses to come forward.
