West Craven Area Committee has approved giving £3,500 to Barnoldswick Cricket Club to help cover the cost of drainage work at the Victory Park ground.
Club chairman Graham Whipp said work costing £1,560 had been carried out to improve drainage round the cricket square. He said further work to improve drainage in the outfield was required but would cost around £10,000.
Barnoldswick councillor Jennifer Purcell, who voted in favour of the work, spoke of the importance of providing support to the club, saying: “They’re a good team and bring people to this town.”
