The search is on to find someone who makes an outstanding contribution to sport in Craven.
The Craven Community Champions Awards were launched last year to recognise the invaluable contributions made to Craven communities by individuals and groups across the district.
One of the categories this year is the Sports Award, which celebrates those who have made an outstanding contribution to sporting activities and improving citizen participation.
Judges are looking for somebody who encourages others to take part in sport and goes the extra mile in putting in the effort to help others achieve their goals.
Last year’s winner was Ben Holderness, who helps coach children at Skipton Cricket Club and Skipton LMS Juniors FC, holding regular training sessions at Sandylands, coaching the under-9s cricket team and the under-11s football team.
Judges last year said Ben was “dedicated to making a difference to children's lives, ensuring they are the best players they can be.”
This year’s Sports Award is being sponsored by Principle Healthcare International, based in Skipton, one of Europe's leading producers of vitamins, minerals and supplements.
Mike Davies, group chief executive officer for Principle Healthcare, said: “As a recent winner of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise our business was recognised for excellence in developing health-care products not just in the UK but around the world.
“Principle Healthcare International are passionate about health and wellbeing and working with the local community and so proud to sponsor the recognition of outstanding achievements and talent in sport, given the importance sport plays in healthy living.”
The Craven Community Champion Awards are run by Craven District Council and the Craven Herald and sponsored by Cirteq.

Entries will be shortlisted by judges in October and winners will be announced at an awards ceremony being held at the Coniston Hotel from 6pm to 9pm on November 7.
