Nearly 200 turned out for Langcliffe Village Show on Saturday.
Organisers of the second annual show, which was held jointly in the village institute and parish church, said the show was a great success despite the weather.
One of the organisers, Ian Johnson, said the number and standard entries in the various classes was very high.
Special guest Mark Charnock, who plays Emmerdale's Marlon Dingle, was on hand to open the show.
“One of the great things about the show was Mark Charnock,” added Helen Jarvis, another of the show’s organisers. “He was absolutely charming.”
Helen also said the show included a “delightful range of materials used to make door hangings,” hand-crafted items she said the village is well known for.
Helen herself also did well at the show, winning the art, photography and culinary trophies as well as the Reid/James Rose Bowl for most points in the show.
“My bosom cake went down very well,” she said. “It won the novelty cake award.”
The prize winners were as follows: Children's Trophy: Millie Brewster; Handicrafts Trophy: Avril Richards; Culinary Trophy: Helen Jarvis; Preserves Trophy: Kate Croll; Produce Trophy: David Croll and David Wiggins; Fruit Trophy: David Wiggins; Photography: Helen Jarvis; Floral Trophy: Barbara Jonson; Door Hanging Trophy: Barbara Jonson; Art Trophy: Helen Jarvis; Local Landscape Award: Helen Jarvis;and the Reid/James Rose Bowl (most points in show): Helen Jarvis. Three special awards, chosen by Mark Charnock, went to Finley Brewster, Pat Smelt and Liz Rycroft.
