7:00am Thursday 29th August 2013 in News
A climber was airlifted to hospital after falling off Twisleton Scar, near Ingleton, on Sunday afternoon.
The 25-year-old was trying to negotiate the Handjam Crack route – rated as severe – when the accident occurred just before 4pm.
It is understood his runner came out and he tumbled several metres down broken ground, sustaining a fractured wrist.
The injured man was treated at the scene by a doctor from the air ambulance and was assisted to the helicopter by members of the Cave Rescue Organisation.
