Seaside fun at Cross Hills Co-op raises funds for Carers Trust
8:00am Saturday 31st August 2013 in News
All the fun of the seaside was enjoyed – at Cross Hills Co-op!
Staff at the Main Street store dressed for the beach as part of the company’s efforts to raise funds for its charity of the year, the Carers Trust.
Nationally, the Co-op aims to raise £5 million for the trust to support schemes including Time Out, which provides young carers with residential breaks.
Cross Hills Co-op manager Muhammad Walli said: “It’s great to think that while we were creating a holiday atmosphere in store we were also raising funds to provide much-needed breaks for young carers across the UK.
“We’re determined to keep the fundraising momentum going and are planning more events before the year is out.”
