Embsay churches: The Sunday services at St Mary’s will be all age worship at 9.30am, followed at 11.15am by a Book of Common Prayer Communion Service. The all age worship includes family-friendly activities and usually a live band. The Methodist Chapel service at 10.30am will be led by David Alison. Please note that the chapel is open every Monday, between 2pm and 4pm. Anyone in the village seeking a time of peace and quiet is invited to pop in.
Flower Club: On Tuesday, the club will hold its annual general meeting in the village hall, followed by a practical arrangement called Indian Summer. This is one of the titles for the club’s village show next Saturday, September 7.
Embsay Players: Auditions for adult roles in this year’s pantomime will take place in the village hall next Sunday, September 8, at 2pm. The group is always looking for new thespians, young and not so young, and volunteers to help with the numerous “behind the scenes” jobs, such as making rehearsal teas and, during panto week, with front of house, selling ice creams and make-up.
Pre-School Playgroup: The Wriggle and Giggle Club will now be held on Mondays, from 2pm to 3pm. All parents, carers, grandparents and childminders are welcome and it is a great way to meet up while the children enjoy lots of activities and learn songs and rhymes.
Hall committee: The next meeting of the Embsay Village Hall Committee will take place in the hall committee room, at 7pm, on Monday, September 16.
