Comply Direct team strides out to help Manorlands hospice
8:00am Sunday 1st September 2013 in News
A team of walkers put their best feet forward to raise cash for Manorlands hospice.
Colleagues from Skipton environmental services company Comply Direct tackled a 28-mile route as part of the Yorkshire Dales Jane Tomlinson Walk for All festival. They have so far raised nearly £2,000 for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.
Comply Direct chose to support Manorlands in tribute to the care received there by the late father of the firm’s head of sales and operations, Jess Aldersley.
She said: “I feel very proud of the whole team and am delighted with the amount raised for a cause that is very personal to me.”
Her dad, Howard Tennant, who died last year, spent his final days at the hospice. Jess was joined on the walk by workmates Abigail Gains, Melanie Tomkins, Hanna Jones and Gareth Wells and “friend” of the company, Sarah Barraclough.
They completed the challenge in under 11 hours, despite torrential downpours and 50mph winds.
