Skipton woman fined over lack of insurance
2:31pm Thursday 5th September 2013 in News
A 41-year-old Skipton woman with a confusing address has been ordered to pay £305 in fines and costs after admitting driving without insurance. Victoria Kaya told Skipton magistrates that letters from her insurance company had failed to reach her in Birtwhistles Yard. Payment was still being taken from her bank account, but her policy had been cancelled without her knowing when she was stopped by police on June 23 in Keighley Road. Magistrates endorsed her licence with six penalty points and fined her £200 with costs of £85 and a victims surcharge of £20.
