Fairtrade joy for Glusburn pupils
5:00am Thursday 12th September 2013 in News
Glusburn Community Primary School is celebrating renewal of its Fairtrade status.
The Fairtrade Quality Mark has now been awarded to the school annually for several years.
Year 4 teacher Carla Lambert, who leads the Fairtrade team, said: “We are delighted to have the status renewed.
“We do lots of Fairtrade activities throughout the year, such as family quizzes and coffee mornings, and projects in class.”
Fairtrade tea and coffee, and confectionary baked using Fairtrade ingredients, will be on offer during a Macmillan coffee morning and harvest festival at the school on Friday, September 27, between 10am and 11am.
The school choir will perform at the event and the gardening club will display its produce. All harvest collections will be donated to Beanlands, Sunnybank and Townend Close care homes.
