No sale for police station in Settle
2:55pm Thursday 12th September 2013 in News
The former Settle Police Station was unsuccessful at auction – after failing to hit its reserve price.
The listed station and courthouse was put up for auction on Thursday by Pugh auctioneers in Leeds with a guide price of between £400,000 and £450,000.
Julia Mulligan, North Yorkshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, said: “There were a number of bids on the property, but it failed to meet its reserve price. Since the auction we have continued to receive interest in the property and have had a further offer.”
An application by the police commissioner to convert the building to apartments was submitted to Craven District Council, but withdrawn before a decision was reached.
