Students set for a stormy performance in South Craven
5:38pm Thursday 12th September 2013 in News
Stormy weather is forecast for South Craven School students as they prepare for the Shakespeare Schools Festival.
The 20 students will perform a 30-minute version of classic play The Tempest at the Victoria Theatre in Halifax, on November 7.
They will share the stage with three other schools as part of the nationwide festival.
Although they will not be judged, the performers will be given feedback by the other schools and a theatre professional.
The South Craven students have been rehearsing since July with teachers Hannah Bridge and Vicky Johnson.
School spokesman Pauline Kennedy said the Shakespeare Schools Festival was a new venture for South Craven.
She said: “The performers are from different age groups. We have a very thriving drama department, with regular school productions.”
