Repairs set to start at St Oswald's Church, Horton-in-Ribblesdale

Enough money has been raised to start repairs at St Oswald’s Church, Horton-in-Ribblesdale.
Earlier this summer the parochial church council launched a £50,000 appeal for maintenance, repairs and improvements.
It wanted to repair the leaking tower and organ, increase the bells from four to six and make the church comfortable for a range of experiences.
This would involve opening space at the back of the church for exhibitions, creating a small comfortable area in the Lady Chapel for prayer and a toilet in the old hearse house.
Now the church says thanks to a generous donation and the work of fundraisers, sufficient money is available to repair the tower and buy and hang the extra bells. However further funds are still required to open up the church for wider community use.
A series of fundraising events has been planned, including some over the harvest weekend of October 5 and 6.
