Changes made to West Craven bin collections
8:00am Sunday 22nd September 2013 in News
A change to bin collection times in West Craven has come into effect.
Following a review of Pendle Council’s refuse and recycling collection rounds, the time of day when bins are emptied could change.
Council bosses say the change has been made to make collections more efficient and to save taxpayers’ money.
Rubbish and recycling collection days will stay the same, but for some people the time the bin crews arrive could be different.
Philip Mousdale, Pendle’s deputy chief executive, said residents should put out bins by 7.30am on their day of collection as normal or after 6pm the day before their collection day.
He said: “For many people our service will be exactly the same, but for some there will be a small change to the time of collection.”
Carole Taylor, waste and recycling do-ordinator, reminded residents that if their refuse or recycling had not been collected at the usual time they should wait until the next working day before reporting it as crews could simply be arriving later than normal.
