Compensation order after man damaged door
2:11pm Thursday 19th September 2013 in News
A man who damaged the door of his ex-partner’s home when he tried to force his way in has been ordered to pay £250 compensation.
Anthony Tavernier, 31, used his weight against the door of the flat in Old Institute, Mill Street, Sutton-in-Craven, splitting the frame, Skipton magistrates heard on Friday. The court heard he had tried to get back into the flat after being locked out by his partner, with whom he had a child.
Tavernier, of Hollybank Gardens, Bradford, who admitted criminal damage but questioned some of the evidence, was hopeful of a reconciliation with his partner, the court was told.
He was fined £70 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victims surcharge of £20 as well as compensation to the landlord.
