Carleton Primary School gets help from super heroes
8:00am Thursday 26th September 2013 in News
Carleton Endowed Primary School has introduced a new initiative designed to inspire “super” behaviour in its pupils.
It has launched a structured behaviour policy with a super hero theme.
“We thought the children would like the super hero theme,” said headteacher Dougie Speight. “It’s is one of the most successful things we’ve ever launched.”
The policy utilises a three strikes approach, with pupils being given three chances to modify their behaviour before parents are brought in and treats are lost.
“This is about the children taking ownership of their behaviour and it’s designed so everybody knows what we’re trying to do.
“Our pupil’s behaviour has already been judged as outstanding by OFSTED, but we’re just tightening things up to maintain that level.”
