Wishlist for Aireville Park backed by Craven District Council

A wish list of improvements for Aireville Park in Skipton has been given the enthusiastic backing of Craven councillors.
A masterplan, put together by the Friends of Aireville Park, includes a skate park, pump track and play area. It also includes greater use of the park, including the recently introduced 5km Park run on Saturdays.
Craven District Council’s policy committee welcomed the plan and its progress by the volunteer friends group.
Councillors were told that the group was hugely beneficial to the council as it was able to apply for funding closed to the council. They were also told it was hoped much of the work could be completed in time for next July’s Grand Depart of the Tour de France.
After the meeting, Fiona Protheroe, for Friends of Aireville Park, urged anyone interested in the future of the park to get involved.
She said the group was pleased the masterplan had been approved by the council and added the next meeting of the group was due to take place on Tuesday. She said: “We’ve appreciated staff listening to our suggestions for the park, and putting these ideas into the plan for future of the park.
“We’d love to hear from any organisations, companies or individuals who would like to help us raise the funds needed to improve the park or sponsor improvements.”
