9:00am Thursday 26th September 2013 in News
Once again Craven folk are rising to the challenge to create The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
The event is Macmillan Cancer Support’s biggest fundraising event and last year 115,000 people signed up, raising a record £15 million.
And it hopes to do even better this year and raise even more money to help change the lives of people affected by cancer.
Coffee mornings are planned across Craven - with individuals, schools and businesses taking part.
Here we give a selection of local events:
Appletreewick: A Macmillan coffee morning will be held at Parcevall Hall Tearoom tomorrow from 10am to midday. There will also be cakes, books and tombola stalls.
Branch manager Melanie Bond said: “The work Macmillan does is fantastic and if we can help just one family affected by cancer through our fundraising we will be delighted.”
Bolton Abbey: The Priory Church and Bolton Abbey Estate will join forces to host a coffee morning.
It will take place in the village hall tomorrow from 10am to 12.30pm. There will be homemade cakes and preserves on sale as well as the ever popular Men’s Cake Challenge.
Tickets can be bought in advance from both the Estate Office and Church Office at £3.50.
Buckden: A coffee morning will be held Buckden School Room tomorrow from 10am to noon. Contributions for the cake stall would be welcome.
