Fishing without the correct number of licences landed a Barnoldswick man with a bill of more than £1,000.
Kevin Black, 41, was caught by a water bailiff fishing at Raygill Fisheries in Lothersdale on May 25 with just one licence for his four rods, Skipton magistrates heard.
Black, of Skipton Road, had previously been fined £400 for an almost identical offence in April last year at Lake Windermere.
Magistrates found the case against Black proved in his absence. He was fined £800 with costs of £127 and a victims surcharge of £80.
