Have your say on Craven District Council spending
8:00am Sunday 29th September 2013 in News
Craven householders are being urged to have their say over how the district council spends their money.
Craven Council is seeking feedback from the public as it sets its revenue budget for the 2014-15 financial year.
Council bosses said nearly £1.6 million had already been saved from the budget since 2010-11.
But they added that as a result of further reductions in funding, additional savings of around £1.2 million would need to be made over the following three years.
“We want to know whether people think the council spends their money in the most effective way and to tell us how they think we could spend it better,” said a council spokesman.
Comments can be submitted online at cravendc.gov.uk or emailed to budget@ cravendc.gov.uk.
Alternatively people can write to Craven DC (Budget), 1 Belle Vue Square, Broughton Road, Skipton, BD23 1FJ and forms are available from council premises.
The consultation runs until December 6.
The council budget will be approved by the policy committee next February and by full council in March.
