Craft fair raises £400 for disabled and terminally ill children

A craft fair at Settle’s Victoria Hall has raised more than £400 to help disabled and terminally ill children in North Yorkshire.
Charity supporter Ann Prinsloo, a retired nurse from Hellifield, organised the fundraising event.
Proceeds are being match-funded by a local branch of Barclays and the total will be donated to Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children.
Ann got involved with the charity through its Get Crafty campaign, which encourages crafting enthusiasts to make and sell goods to fund specialist equipment for disabled and terminally ill children in their own county.
Ann said: “It was a very successful event. My whole family were involved – husband, three daughters, son-in-laws and grandchildren.
“Not only did we raise more than £400, which will be match-funded thanks to the help of our local bank manager, but we have been able to raise awareness of Newlife Foundation.”
