Meeting to be held over Skipton-based cancer support group
9:00am Sunday 29th September 2013 in News
An open meeting will be held this week with a view to launching a Skipton-based cancer support group.
The idea is being spearheaded by West Craven-based Bosom Friends, which was founded in 2000 by Mary Brennan, who felt isolated when she underwent treatment for cancer.
Since then it has gone from strength to strength helping countless numbers of cancer sufferers and their families, both financially as well as emotionally.
Now it is looking at setting up a similar group in Skipton and has organised a meeting for interested people in the Soroptimists Rooms on Otley Street, Skipton, on Tuesday at 7pm.
There will be presentations from Bosom Friends’ trustees as well as from two members who co-ordinate the peer support sessions that run in Barnoldswick.
