Marie Curie Cancer Care to launch North Craven fundraising group
7:00am Thursday 3rd October 2013 in News
A new fundraising group is being created in North Craven to help raise funds and awareness of Marie Curie Cancer Care and its nursing service.
Anyone interested in being involved is invited to an informal meeting at the Royal Oak, Settle, today at 6pm.
Community fundraiser Lucy Burnett said: “Joining a fundraising group is a great opportunity for local people to join together and get involved in fun and rewarding fundraising activities while supporting the Marie Curie Nurses in the local area. We would love people to get in touch for a chat about what being part of a fundraising group entails, and answer any questions supporters may have before setting up a meeting in the area. We would love as many people as possible to join us.
“Fundraising groups make an enormous difference locally by helping to raise the vital funds we need so that Marie Curie Nurses can continue to provide free care to people with terminal illnesses in their own homes.”
