Grassington Primary School welcomes new headteacher Libby Wheildon

A school that has been classed as good by Ofsted inspectors has welcomed a new headteacher.
Libby Wheildon, a long-time teacher in Bentham, has been appointed headteacher at Grassington Primary School, Mrs Wheildon, 51, who taught at High Bentham Primary for 29 years, is delighted to be back at Grassington, where she served as acting headteacher for a term.
“I’m delighted to be back,” said Mrs Wheildon. “I feel fortunate to be at a vibrant and thriving primary school at the heart of the community.
“It’s a lovely community school and I absolutely love being able to come back here because I know so many of the families and the children.”
Mrs Wheildon also praised the pupils and staff after the school was rated as “good” in an Ofsted inspection in July.
“Ofsted said our pupils were polite and courteous and the adults in school have created a caring environment in which to learn,” she said. “I feel fortunate to be here with a committed and hard-working staff and the children’s behaviour is impeccable.”
