Local woman seriously hurt in A65 crash

The 34-year-old, who lives locally, was driving a red Volkswagen Polo when it was in a head-on collision with a blue Hyundai Coupe near the junction of Sour Lane at around 5.10pm.
The Hyundai was travelling towards Gargrave and the Polo in the opposite direction.
The injured woman, who was freed from the wreckage by local firefighters, was taken to Airedale Hospital with serious injuries and was later transferred to Leeds General Infirmary where she remains.
A passenger in the Volkswagen, a local woman in her 40s, was taken to Airedale Hospital with rib injuries.
The Hyundai ended up on its roof, but the driver, a 78-year-old man from the Lincolnshire area, received only minor injuries.
Police are appealing for witnesses who saw either of the vehicles prior to the crash or witnessed the actual collision.
