Tall stories for Grassington Primary School
8:00am Thursday 17th October 2013 in News
Youngsters at Grassington Primary School are being challenged to read the equivalent of their own height in books.
Before the end of the school year, key stage one children will have to get through 42 books – the height of reception pupil Layla Dean – while key stage two youngsters face reading 72 books – the height of the tallest boy, year six student Archie Buckley.
“The children can read a selection of picture books, story books, fiction and non-fiction and even comics and magazines, but a balance of the types of books is required,” said headteacher Libby Wheildon.
Those completing the challenge will be entered into a draw to win a Kindle.
