Former hairdresser Mark Danvers-Colquhoun will celebrate his 95th birthday tomorrow.
Mark, who has lived in Carleton for 40 years, was one of the first men to work in a woman’s hair salon in Skipton when he joined his wife, Molly, in Otley Street, in 1946. They later moved the business, Henley’s, to a new salon in Newmarket Street, where they worked together until retiring in 1986.
Molly died in 2006, aged 87.
The couple met at the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool when he was an engineer in the RAF and they were married for 65 years.
