3:20pm Thursday 17th October 2013 in News
Two men hailed a taxi in the car park at Skipton hospital to carry three mountain bikes, stolen in Skipton, to Keighley, magistrates heard.
They were spotted, by a police officer, unloading the bikes at Jack Harrison’s home in Park Lane, in the early hours of January 29, this year.
The three machines, valued at £1,000, £2,500 and £500 had been stolen from three different properties in Skipton, two in Hurrs Road and one in Otley Road.
Harrison, 25, pleaded guilty to three counts of handling stolen goods and was sentenced to a 12-month community order and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £60 victims surcharge.
He told police the bikes had belonged to a friend who was selling them because he had fallen out with his family.
