Youngsters tasted success in a primary schools cross-country running festival, which was hosted and organised by South Craven School at Cross Hills.
A spokesman for South Craven School said: “Our sports pitches were packed out with parents, relatives and teachers who had come to watch the young pupils from the local primary schools compete.
“The excited youngsters were organised by volunteer students from South Craven who were completing their leadership course. Each and every one of the runners was clapped and cheered on as they raced.
“At the end of the festival, medals were awarded to the first, second and third-placed runners from each race and the trophy awarded to the winning school.
“The Craven area is well known for its cross-country runners and the tradition is being encouraged by events such as this.”
