County council funds new roof for Ingleton Primary School
8:00am Saturday 26th October 2013 in News
Youngsters at Ingleton Primary School are looking forward to a dry winter.
They have just got a new roof as part of a major programme of capital investment in schools by North Yorkshire County Council.
In total, more than £20 million was spent across the county.
Jo Colledge, co-headteacher at Ingleton, said: “After a long wait and many leaks we have finally got a brand new roof.
“Thanks to a good summer and a great team of contractors, the work was completed for the beginning of the autumn term. All the children and staff are now looking forward to a warm, dry winter.
Despite big reductions in the amount of money available, the county council has continued to prioritise investment in its schools.
A further programme of works is planned for next summer.
