Pendle’s independent retailers have signed up to a shop locally manifesto.

The manifesto celebrates the unique service independent retailers are able to offer their customers.

Celebrate What’s Great is being launched on Saturday, December 7, and retailers in all of Pendle’s towns have united through the campaign which aims to persuade shoppers to spend locally in the run-up to Christmas and beyond.

Coun Paul White, who oversees enterprise and growth in Pendle, said: “Independent retailers do compete on price but that’s not all – they can often find it easier to focus on the customer, which is what it’s all about.

“Most importantly, you can feel that the money you spend is investing in the very place that you live.”

All of Pendle’s independent shops signing up to the manifesto are listed on Pendle Council’s website pendle.gov.uk/celebratewhat’sgreat.

Customers will also be able to see the manifesto displayed in participating shops.

Once the campaign is formally launched, customers will be able to receive freebies and take advantage of offers and promotions.
