Staff at Brougham Street Nursery School in Skipton are celebrating a good Ofsted report.

The nursery was rated as “good with outstanding features”, saying children are “provided with a superb range of rich, highly stimulating activities that provide optimal challenge indoors and outdoors”.

It goes on: “These are unquestionably well matched to their individual needs and stage of development to help them make optimum progress.”

Child care manager Beejaye Caywood said: “We’re very pleased with it and most proud of the outstanding bits – outstanding for teaching and learning particularly.”

Headteacher of the nursery Angela Harrison said: “We’re delighted and very proud. I think certainly teamwork is one of the strengths and Beejaye has worked very hard with her whole team – which is a growing team – so they all pull together. We also have a really strong, steady governing body.”

The report praises the “excellent understanding” of staff, and describes the children as “exceptionally animated and eager to learn, which prepares them for the next stages of learning”.
