Craven householders who signed up for the latest round of the Big Community Switch scheme could save an average of £141 per year on their energy bills.
Locally 132 households had registered for the November Big Community Switch and joined a collective of more than 54,000 households from more than 70 local authorities.
By buying their energy together, they get a better deal and save money.
Best deals in the latest switch auction came from Scottish Power, Green Star Energy (formerly Pioneer Energy) and British Gas.
Coun Carl Lis, Craven District Council’s lead member for Greener Craven, said: “I hope that the next auction in February will attract equally competitive offers from energy companies so that more Craven residents can save money on their fuel bills over next year’s winter months.”
