Repairs to a Cowling memorial cairn are to be carried out.
Cowling Parish Council has agreed to employ a company to do pointing work to the Snowden Memorial on Pad Cote Lane. The work, which is expected to cost around £300, will be done by Heritage Restoration.
The cairn records the death of Philip Snowden, first Viscount Snowden of Ickornshaw and former Chancellor of the Exchequer, on May 15, 1937. He was born in the Middleton area of the village.
