A planning inspector will decide whether a single-storey extension can be added to the rear of a house in Long Preston.
Mr and Mrs D Longbottom want to build an extension at their home, Coach Lodge, in Church Street, to form a dining room. But the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority rejected the scheme, saying it would have an unacceptable overbearing impact on a neighbouring property.
Now Mr and Mrs Longbottom have lodged an appeal with the Planning Inspectorate.
