An enforcement notice served on a West Craven farm park is set to be withdrawn.

Pendle Council had served an enforcement notice on Thornton Hall Farm for the unauthorised deposit of materials and modelling of land to form a motor sports track.

The council had asked the owners to remove the deposited material and to re-profile and seed the land.

Speaking at a meeting of the West Craven Area Committee, Neil Watson, Pendle’s planning and building control manager, told councillors that although the deposited material had been removed, work to remedy “unacceptable landscaping” still needed to be carried out.

Mr Watson said: “There is a mound that needs to levelled off, a bund that has to be reduced in profile and a hedge to be planted along the length of the site, which will mask the area from the vantage point of the road.”

Members agreed that if the physical preparation work was undertaken by January 1 and the planting completed by the end of January, the enforcement notice would be withdrawn.
