Lucy Auckland and Carolyn Robinson sprung into action when Gargrave Pre-school found itself in need of new blinds.
They set up a charity stall at the village’s Summerseat and sold homemade cakes, Christmas cards designed by the children and tickets for the Christmas raffle.
And the event raised £120 towards the new blinds, which are expected to cost £800.
“It went really well,” said Lucy, chairman of the pre-school committee. “We sold nearly everything we had made. We were mainly supported by villagers and walkers.
“I think if we do another stall, it will be in the summer when it is warmer and there are more people about.”
The pre-school is based on the primary school site in Neville Road and has 24 children on its books.
