A service that helps families with children access a wide range of quality toys and equipment for only £10 per year has gone from strength to strength.
The Dales Toy Library, launched last year, now has its own website where parents, carers and their children can select toys and email toy requests which can then be picked up at library play sessions.
On Tuesdays, the service, a registered charity, operates from its base at the Upper Wharfedale Children’s Centre in Grassington, where most of the toy library stock is stored.
Running at the same time, from 1.45pm to 3.15pm, is a stay and play session where parents and carers are welcome to join in.
On Monday, the toy library runs from Nidderdale Children’s Centre, King Street, Pateley Bridge.
The toy library stock also includes a range of specialist therapeutic, educational and stimulating play equipment for children with additional needs.
Library co-ordinator Lyn Picton, who manages the service, said all children had a right to play and everyone was welcome.
“People can look at our website, or call into one of our sessions. We have an excellent range of toys and equipment just waiting to be played with.”
