When Victoria Louise Bowskill and David Ryan Shanks got on the same bus while at university in Manchester, little did they realise they were embarking on a lifelong journey.
But they started going out together and have just married at St Thomas’ Church, Sutton-in-Craven, The bride - a research manager for an online publication - is the younger daughter of Rosemary Bowskill, of Cross Hills, and Jeff Bowskill, of Cyfronydd, Powys.
Her bridegroom is an architect and is the only son of Peter Shanks, of New Mills, Derbyshire, and Susan Mills, of Didsbury.
Given away by her father, the bride wore a princess-line dress in ivory duchesse satin and an elbow-length veil, held in place by a diamante and pearl headband.
Attendants were friends Kate Firth, Karen Teague and Genevieve Knevitt, who wore knee-length dresses in red, teal and purple, and flower girls were Rosalind and Alex Lucas and Florence Firth, who wore cream silk dresses.
Best man was Alex Flint and ushers were Chris Gore and James Bowskill.
A reception was held at the Kings Hall and Winter Garden in Ilkley and the newlyweds spent their honeymoon in Canada. They will live in Richmond, Surrey.
