Christmas arrived at the 12th-century Linton Parish Church when 60 pupils from Grassington Primary School took part in a carol service.
Dressed in their red school uniform – very appropriate for the season – they carried homemade candles around the aisles while singing Christmas carols.
Some of the older children gave readings, telling the story of Christmas, to the packed congregation.
The service was opened by local rector the Rev David Macha and was led by headteacher Libby Wheil-don, who also conducted the singing and accompanied pupils on the piano.
