A memorial service for Skipton postman Allan Ripley will be held at the town’s Baptist Church tomorrow.
Mr Ripley, who died just before Christmas, was a postman from 1966 to 1998.
He also offered himself for service with the Baptist Missionary Society and spent two years in the Congo dispensing aid to Angolan refugees.
A keen sportsman, he was president of Whinfield Bowling Club and still retained a connection with the Keighley Table Tennis League, with whom he played for many years.
The memorial service will be held at 11.30am.
Mr Ripley is survived by his wife Daphne, children Joanna, Gavin and Melanie and grandchildren Bethany, Sasha, Leonie and Elodie.
