History was made in the Colley family when little James was born on Christmas Day at Airedale General Hospital.
His gran, Beverley Colley, of Ward Street, Skipton, was born on the same day in 1958.
“She was totally shocked,” said new dad, Matthew Colley, 27, who lives with his partner Lucy Willan, 32, in Hillside Crescent, Skipton.
“It was the best birthday present she could have got.
“He was actually due on Boxing Day but if anything we expected him to be late.”
Lucy, who met Matthew at the Skipton Building Society, where they both work, gave birth to James at 3.23am and he weighed in at 7lb 5oz.
She said being a mum felt a little surreal. “It’s strange – very strange – but nice!” said Miss Willan. “I was surprised that he arrived when he did. I thought he’d be really late. He’s definitely the best Christmas present – a bit of a different one!”
