Craven Conservation Group is joining forces with the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority to improve the nature reserve at Cleatop Park Wood.

Just a mile from Settle, the woodland is an important resource and has been for more than 800 years.

The work will be carried out on Saturday and adult volunteers are welcome.

No previous experience is needed and participants should take along old, warm clothes, waterproofs, lunch, hot drinks and sturdy shoes or boots.

“We will provide tools and work gloves,” said organiser Dominick Spracklen.

“The practical work will be light and suitable for a wide range of fitness.”

Those interested should meet at 9.30am at Greenfoot car park for a half-hour walk to Cleatop Wood. They will be back in Settle for 3pm.
