Skipton MP Julian Smith is urging budding film makers and musicians to enter two parliamentary competitions.
The Rock The House and Film The House contests, whose patrons include Brian May and Rick Wakeman, are judged by some of the industry’s leading lights.
Entrants are invited to submit original material to their MP, who then nominates one person per category.
Winners have their work shown or played in parliament and other prizes include festival slots and radio and TV exposure.
Mr Smith said: “Every year these competitions get bigger and better and the opportunities from winning are huge.
“If you are a budding musician or film maker, I would encourage you to take part.”
